One of the cool things about this blog business is being about to rant about things that frankly, bug the shit of me.
As I get older…I find myself less and less a slave to fashion. What’s trendy DOES NOT MEAN IT LOOKS GOOD ON YOU!
Case in point: jersey and empire-waist dresses. When, oh when will this trend be OVER? I am low-waisted and empire waists make me pull on my dress like I’m deranged. I feel like I have a reverse wedgie. AND I have personally witnessed two women get asked if they were PREGNANT. Getting asked if you are pregnant when you aren’t = AWKWARD.
Secondly – jersey dresses. I’m seeing high-end designers producing dresses at $200+ MADE OUT OF T-SHIRT MATERIAL! Really? No.
I’ll buy my jersey dresses at Target, thanks and …OH WAIT – that’s right. I’m done following trends. Heck – I still have sweatpants with elastic around the ankles (that’s right)….and they sit right where they belong. On my freakishly low waist.
